You may think of our paint programs as little more than entertainment,
but they truly do impart educational value. Although we can tell you
this, if it only comes from us it sounds, well... suspect. The links
below are real world examples of educators using ASL paint programs
in classroom settings. No hype. Just facts.
We found these links while surfing the internet. What's said on
these pages is completely unsolicited.
We offer attractive rates for classroom use. Please contact us to
find out more. Meanwhile, download one of the programs and try it
out for yourself. You'll be very pleasantly surprised.
ASL's paint programs are designed for specific age groups, interests, and
abilities.
For ages 3 - 7 look at
Le Paint Petite. This program contains lots of
colorbook pages that use a fill bucket technique. Younger children
do not have the motor skill required for fine artwork, so the color
pages allow them to feel a sense of accomplishment. As they get older
it also contains tools that exercise their motor skills; we wanted
the program design to not allow kids to outgrow it too quickly.
For ages 5 - 10 look at
Child's Play. This program contains very few
colorbook pages and instead emphasizes the toolsets and subtle
variations of tools and color. As motor skills improve children are
less inclined to simply color than express themselves artistically.
The aim of this program is to give them the toolset to do this; the
tools range from wacky and wild "doodling" tools (let's face it, most
kids aren't 100% serious at all times) to far more involved and
grown up art tools.
For ages 8 and up look at
ASL Wizzard. This is a very high end art
program specifically aimed at giving kids the sort of computer
technology that otherwise can't be found in programs designed for
them. ASL Wizzard combines natural media, real time paint mixing
tools with supplied professional Disney quality artwork (the artist
worked for Disney for a long time.) This supplied art gives kids a
friendly framework to practice the skills they acquire.
