RX for Anemic Paint Programs

PaintAssist is the ideal companion for most image editing programs, because these don't focus on painting effects. It's purpose is to allow the addition of special effects to any paint program using the windows clipboard as a transfer medium. Now you don't need to spend big $$$ upgrading your trusty paint program for a feature set that you don't need, is buggy, and takes gobs more of your hard drive space. Not with PaintAssist around...

Let's face it, most paint programs are meant for photo retouching and similar chores. They usually don't read AVI movies for getting frames (ideal for pulling a snapshot from a movie trailer), have special text effects, and so on. And most of them are not very good with transparent pastes, either. (A transparent paste is where you can take an image and not paste its background color over the picture you're pasting into. It only pastes the image.)

PaintAssist Screen Shot

As you can see, the same "keep it simple" interface that powers ASL's top rated kid programs makes sophisticated work such as getting frames from AVI video clear, understandable, and easy. Anybody can do it, not just the computer pros. Now you can use video capture to get the images you want and easily place them in any background, and still use your paint program of choice.

The Text Effects PaintAssist offers allow you to add text to your imagery with a little flair. Rotate it, make it go up and down, explode it, extrude it, make it shadowed, or better yet, OUTLINE your favorite font.

PaintAssist also allows you to convert vector graphic images to bitmaps; now you can use the gigabytes of vector graphic clip art used in DTP programs right in your paint program! under 500kb of your hard drive space and can run speedily on any Win95/98/NT configuration, no matter how little RAM.

The Transparent Paste feature allows you to bring in an image of what you're working on either as a file (JPG, BMP, GIF, TIF, PCX, etc.) or as a clipboard image as a background, then paste any clipboard image against the background transparently. If you are using PaintAssist to generate text effects, for example, and you paste your text into your image using your paint program and there's white around the text, your paint program isn't supporting transparency. With PaintAssist you can do the same operation cleanly by pasting JUST THE TEXT into the picture with no white area...

The Save To File feature allows you to save any image you select to a disk file (JPG or BMP format.)

PaintAssist is fast and tiny, considering what it does... It takes under 500kb of your hard drive space and can run speedily on any Win95/98/NT configuration, no matter how little RAM.
